Historic Greenville properties put to creative new uses

GREENVILLE - Along with the sound of construction, there’s a buzz in the air in Uptown Greenville as a number of redevelopment projects take shape, bringing new uses to existing structures and providing a number of benefits to the community.

At the corner of Fifth and Cotanche streets, a multi-year effort to rehabilitate and revitalize buildings and storefronts nears fruition. On the street level, the refreshed facade of the project, dubbed the SuperBlock, offers a hint of the extensive renovation taking place inside. New retail businesses replace nightclubs that by day offered only bricked-in and blacked out windows.
